The laws regarding how our country works with people who want to enter, both temporarily and for citizenship.

Then those who enter the country illegally. They feel current immigration laws should be upheld and ‘sanctuary cities’ should be denied federal aid. source

AGAINST Democrats

Feel the immigration system is broken and needs reform. They focus on ending the 3-10-and permanent bars that prevent immigrants from attaining legal permits and citizenship. Also, they support looser restrictions to aid refugees fleeing violent or unlivable living conditions in their own country, and to have government assistance programs like the affordable care act available to non-citizens. source

AGAINST

Taxes

One of the key issues in tax reform is whether Big Business tax breaks should be repealed, and which organizations should enjoy nonprofit status.

AGAINST Republicans

Republicans are against hypertaxation on any class or industry. They want to ensure past abuses against businesses, individuals, non-profits, and others are never repeated by the tax system. In regards to overseas businesses, they advocate for a territory based taxation- which will tax money made and stored abroad by American businesses and organizations. source

FOR Democrats

Democrats want to end tax breaks for large businesses and add tax penalties for companies that send their businesses, production, and funding overseas. They focus on increasing tax breaks to the lower- and middle-income families in order to lighten the cost of living burdens. source

AGAINST

Impeachment

House of Representatives has the power to bring charges of impeachment, and they voted for impeachment on December 18, 2019. The Senate has the power to try the impeachment. Conviction in the Senate requires a two-thirds supermajority vote of those present. The result of conviction is removal from office.

DETAILS:

AGAINST Republicans

The regulations established by the CFPD are mostly seen as hindering the business of banking in general. The GOP focuses on regulations that protect and regulate consumer support, but otherwise prefer to return power back to the institutions. source

FOR Democrats
