N. Gaetz (@RepGaetz) March 29, 2019 The Trump National Doral is a sprawling property that sits on 2,700 acres of land in Doral, Florida. It has been owned by the family of Trump since the late 1980s. In addition to the summit’s location, which is in an area that’s predominantly black and Hispanic, the property has a history of hosting white nationalist events. In 2017, Trump and his family were sued for “fraudulently obtaining” $1.5 million in federal loans after using their properties as “vehicles for right-wing political activities.” The lawsuit was filed by the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics, which accused them of using their properties for political purposes without properly disclosing it. The next year, the property hosted a white nationalist conference called “Unite The Right II” that was attended by members of the Ku Klux Klan and other far-right groups . In 2018, the property hosted an event called “America First: A Celebration Of Life And Liberty” that featured speakers who had ties to white nationalists like former Ku Klux Klan state David Duke and former neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin . A representative from Women for America First did not respond to multiple requests for comment about why they invited Gaetz to speak at their summit or what he would be speaking about at Friday night’s event.
